Nothing that surprising really. My RX8 has one, standard component.

Drive shaft or propshaft?

Severely doubt an RX8 has CF driveshafts.

Remember it's being screened on national television, which of course has a much wider audience than Nat Geo or Discovery.
The episodes on the BBC contain less info than the Nat Geo ones, probably because the great unwashed are as thick as two short planks
