Rift or VIVE Which has the better game platform?

Well I went for it and got the Vive in the end. It cost a bit more as my friend soon realized he'd under priced it a fair bit and I wasn't happy undercutting a mate either so we came to a new figure we where both happy with.

Its just about running ok on my current computer. I've managed to play a bit of Alien Isolation and a few free games on steam.

Loved the portal stories.
Does any one have any recommendations on free games to try out.

I'm not going to bother buying any AAA titles until I get my new rig up and running as I don't want to spoil the experience with this machine.

Also does any one have any tips for adjusting the headset for best clarity and sharpness? I've tried adjusting the IPD and I couldn't see any difference. I also adjusted the lenses but again haven't found the sweet spot yet.

I find text is quite blurry and difficult to read unless its dead center of vision. Is this just a limitation of the headset though?

any tips would be great.

Compund Demo is a very simple VR shooter on Steam and very fun. I think the Archery game with Steam's The Lab is great. Echo Arena on Oculus is also free but not sure if you need Touch Controllers to get it?

Doom 3 BFG, Quake 2 and Half-Life have VR mods in the same way AI does. SweViver on YouTube has covered these.

Due to the lenses, it is best to look with your head while keeping your eyes looking at the sweet spot. If your video card can handle it, try the super sampling found on the SteamVR Settings under the Developer category.

Thanks guys I'll check them out.

Just seen that super sampling was already turned on and set to a default value of 1. Shall I try upping this more?

just had a quick go on rec room, I can see that's going to be a lot of fun. The conversations going on in the lobby are worth the download alone! :)

Yeah, it's great fun. Went into the lobby today, bunch of people sitting round chatting. Joined in, then one of the users opened a park and invited everyone there. Spent about 2 hours with 30 people just messing about with the sandbox, trying to get onto the roof of the building and then seeing how far away we could get. Silly, but hilarious at the same time. :)

I upped super sampling to 2 in the Vive settings and its made it a bit clearer but has put a dent into performance. Getting a lot of stuttering now.

On another note I downloaded "The Lab" and played xortex. What a little gem this game is. Does any one know of a similar full game?
