Rift S VR quality improve with upgrade?

I think you will still notice a huge improvement with the quest 2 vs rift s screens. And wireless definitely still looks better than rift s. The image is slightly compressed and wouldn't be as good as a proper wired connection but the resolution and screen are much better than the rift s, plus the freedom of wireless play at 120fps in incredible!

Sounds good! The wireless ability is a huge selling point for me, Just ordered one from amazon should be here tomorrow

Oh, you will really notice it when you try the Rift S after playing in the Quest 2 for a while.

RX5700 is decent, you should notice an improvement over the Rift S. An RTX card from Nvidia or an RDNA 2 card from AMD would be better as they have better/faster encoders which are important for the Quest 2(with the Nvidia RTX cards having the fastest encoders)

Woohoo nice one! I should add for the best experience I would also get the elite strap, I guess try the standard strap first but I would say the elite strap offers much better comfort and is well worth it!

^^^ Cheers guy's my quest 2 arrived today!, its nice upgrade over the rift s! glad i made the upgrade now, will sell my rift and recoupe some funds, haven't had much time to play with it yet but very impressed with the screen so far, i noticed right away the diffrence when just viewing the desktop on my pc, the rift is rarther blury in comparison and has a very small sweet spot, the quest 2 is much closer to looking at a real screen! i wasn't expecting that at all!, text is sooo clear to read now. for £299 i think its brillient value for money.

The only negative other than having to use facebook so far would be that i now see why you recomend the elite strap!, the strap that it comes with is very poor compared to the rift s, its not very comfatbule at all, took me a lot of fiddling about just to get it acceptable and its a pain in the butt when somebody else wants to have a go, I will definetly be looking into the elite strap now.

Looking forward to having a good play with it tommrow now.

I'd honestly avoid the Elite strap, they are poorly made and break easily, look at 3rd party one's in the Quest 2 accessories thread.

Great to hear you're having such a great time with it! It's a great headset and upgrade, especially noticeable if you try the rift s after quest 2!
Yeah getting the elite strap or 3rd party version as mentioned below is a must! I personally have the elite strap and find it well made and it hasn't broken on me with quite a lot of use but others have have had issues. I think most or all have been ironed out by now though. It's up to you but either is better than the standard strap
