Hey guys!

I tried the beta and was impressed by the visuals but didnt have much time to give it a proper go!

Whats it like now? Im an on and off wow player and only have 1 max level character i play casually as im more of a ps3 guy these days!

So whats rift like, is it worth the money?

Thanks :)

I played it for a month. It offered nothing unique to hook me. Quite similar to Aion storyline wise, and played similar to Warhammer online.

Some novel ideas in pvp, but at least at low levels- some classes/combos are ridiculously strong others pretty weak. It was fun enough to play- but it's the same tired old mmo design.

Yes if you have friends you know how play it, if not you can find it a very, very dull game. I found player interaction on it almost non-existant outside 5mins long groups to clear rifts. Perhaps it was just the server I was on but when there's 300 people in the capital and nobody talking on global channels you wonder why they're playing a MMO.

Game itself is great though.

Rift was incredibly good fun through beta and early release, the soul system was fantastic and the gfx looked superb even on low spec machines.

However, the game is far too easy to level up !! you can literaly hit the level cap in a few days leaving you with a few instances/dungeons to re-run over and over and it does get boring. I would have continued my sub if the PvP was decent, having two rank 4 characters rogue/mage I found Warfronts were superb however wait times were terrible.

Rift is good for players who don't have much gametime due to RL/Jobs etc, you can happily level up without rushing.

I have 2 level 15's and so far i'm loving it, its a really good game. It does need some work, but nothing major. It is a very complete game with very few bugs

Visuals are great, quests aren't bad, the scenery is varied, players are mostly friendly

yes its open world, but a much smaller world with only 1 path to go whilst levelling on each side, and the quests are very dull. The soul system is great and i was hooked up to 50 where i just found it boring after. Worth a try though.

It does sound quite good now! Is 50 the current cap?

Mounts etc?

Its worth a shot i reckon! Lately new mmos dont seem too well recieved but this one has a fair bit of praise about it

This game is great, but the server system lets it down. Far too many servers with low population, or thats how it felt on most EU shards. I never tried the NA shards but I'm going to assume they are more popular. They are doing exactly what EA Mythic did to Warhammer Online.

Class balancing is horrible and Rifts do get boring after a while. I think this game is great if you persuade some friends to join you and level up together. But for me as solo-esque player I found it very boring. I have terminated my subscription but I will come back to this game in the future, I'd rather wait for it to 'mature' so to speak.

Its a decent MMO but the thing that I didn't like is the games major selling feature the Soul Tree. I like Alts and I like there to be lot of different class's but in Rift there are effectivly only four and those four can be anything within that architype.

A hearty yay from me. It puzzles me how folk log on and just sit in the capital cities complaining that there's nothing to do when I've been playing since the headstart and I still enjoy myself every day.

As far as I'm aware the endgame on the PvE side of things consists of expert dungeons (split into two tiers of difficulty) and expert rifts as 5 man options, raid rifts and Gilded Prophecy as 10 man options and lastly Greenscale's Blight and River of Souls as 20 man options (with Hammerknell Fortress coming soon). Not to mention the four PvP warfronts and the crowning jewel that is the soul system. What do people really expect from this genre of game if that can count as boring?
