Riga...anyone been?

stag group I went with was fine, partly because we weren't a bunch of chavs and partly because we were prepared to spend money - as per my previous post in this thread meeting a group of local girls early on in the night probably saved us a fortune on the first night as they bought the drinks and did the talking at the club, I basically paid £2 to get into a club by walking in with them and keeping my mouth closed

table service on the second night was a good idea too - it all goes towards the drinks anyway and we worked out that we'd have collectively spent the same amount anyway only thanks to getting two tables together on the dancefloor we didn't have to queue at the bar, we had a super hot waitress bringing drinks over to us who was also smart and genuinely nice to chat to and pretty diligent at keeping track of our spending. Added bonus was that a lot of the girls in that club were quite materialistic so group of western guys bottle service acted as a magnet for them. I ended up meeting an Estonian girl who worked for some events company actually running the nightclub that evening.

I suppose it really depends if you are a reasonable stag party or a bunch of idiots giving Brits a bad name.

This is the primary, key variable.

That's what I'm talking about. :D

Exactly. We will be a large group but we arent a bunch of scroats haha. We keep ourselves to ourselves generally and don't go looking for trouble. Just want to see the sights of Riga and hit up a few of the local pubs and clubs! As long as we are well informed of the common tourist traps this will avert any major issues.

Cheers for these pointers. Table service isn't something i'd have thought of but we aren't all skint pots and so aren't going to be just looking for the cheapest dives. Don't mind paying for something like that especially when it goes towards drinks anyway! Shame there aren't any Michelin star restaurants in Riga, we had a cracking meal at Borkonyha in Budapest which has 1 star, earlier in the year for another friends stag do, i'm sure there will be some good places to eat!

Now now, don't be mean. I survived and I usually find trouble in the meekest of places. He seems set on going so I though I'd sound more reassuring ;)

Haha yeh. None of our group have been and we wanted to try and go somewhere none of us had been before as we've done quite a few of the usual stag destinations.

Going on a Stag tomorrow. Reading reviews it sounds like the last place one should choose for a stag.
