Cant decide between these 2 !

A 2nd GTX 480 and a 40GB SSD

Will be used with this monitor

Hope you like the sound of jet engines if you're going down the air cooled GTX 480 route.

If your using that monitor it has to be the Dreadnought!

Only reason to buy that monitor would be to run 3D vision, so if you've got a little extra cash:

Nvidia GeForce 3D Vision Extra Glasses

This option in my opinion.

About four years ago I would choose Nvidea over ATI - but the tables have definitely turned and ATI are a lot better in my opinion...

At that resolution mind the 480 SLI would be considered overkill for everything besides Crysis and Metro 2033. For only about £100 more the Ultima Eclipse also has the custom watercooling and the 5970 is more powerful than the 480.

And as Marky said, ATI Have put up quite a fight.

I must say i would lean more to the ATI side, one because there cards really have come on by leaps and bounds and also the added benefit of the water cooling

Leaning toward the ATI side of things, just getting tempted by the 2 480's

Send NathWraith a message and he should be able to give you a quote for a watercooled GTX 480 system, won't be cheap though.

Well i went with the ATI system but overclockers finance thing doesnt seem to be working atm, so i have to wait untill i can confirm the order

how is it overkill?

it requires the same power needed to do 2560x1600 (actually a bit more than that)
