Rik is responsible for some of my fondest comedy memories, The Young Ones, Bottom and his brief but stunning Black Adder appearances were all a cut above.

That really sucks!
Output-wise though, I'd not seen anything from him in a good while. Which is a shame in itself, but to now not have any chance of new comedy from him at all, is just plain wrong
I thought he was good in Man Down.

I'm not one that usually gets upset by celebrity deaths, but i am absolutely gutted by this news
Bottom is one of my favourite ever shows, also love the young ones. I remember being relieved when he pulled through his quad bike accident in the 90s.

Everything he was in was comedy gold.
Comic Strip. the young ones, fithy rich and catflap, the newstates man, bottom, and just about anything else i can't think of right now.
So very sad that a fella that spent his life giving it for the joy of others leaves the world so early.

Absolutely gutted - Bottom is a huge favourite of mine and I feel so fortunate to have seen Rik and Ade performing Bottom live back in 2001 - was a fantastic show live.
