i am trying to install a devola dlan 500 wifi network kit. The adapters have a code on them but the code is not recognized when entered. I am assuming it will be seen as a new network and all i have to do is enter the key supplied ? laptops ,phones and tv hav all not recognised the code
????

You are correct that the code is entered onto your devices. I'd expect the code to be a WPA2 key which are case sensitive. Make sure you're using the correct case and no mixing O/0 or Capital I with l (ell)

are the laptops and phones etc seeing the ssid of the new network? If not there is something seriously up if they are then I'd use the software that came with the powerline kit on a wired connection to change the wifi password to one of your choosing and see if it works!

Try using the Devolo cockpit software, it helps massively.
