RIP Barry Chuckle

Genius at what they did

Rip

Oh please no, don't do that. It's old fashioned vaudeville act that's been seen and done a billion times repackaged for very young kids. Hardly original or clever. I remember when Benny Hill died, everyone started saying be was a comedy genius but whilst he was alive he was branded outdated and sexist.

Reserve that statement for true Genius like Robin Williams (who was the Einstein of comedy) or Tommy Cooper

I really hope they don't get this whole 'me too' thing. That would really destroy a lot of childhoods.

Not only have their not been any accusations, but apparently they stopped Dave Lee Travis: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uk...terrupted-by-Chuckle-Brothers-court-told.html

And as for not being Genius' they were one of the few kids tv performers that spanned generations, yes the humour was pretty simple but they carried it well and managed to be entertaining for decades.

grow up and have some respect......

all of these people are top of their game in their own individual way. Did Robin Williams have the same target audience to the chuckle brothers - i dont think so

Glad I'm not helping carry the coffin. The temptation to say the line would be far too strong and I'm highly immature

Tommy Cooper

Heard a great story about Tommy Cooper the other day. Back in the day, 1980 I think, Tommy Cooper supported The Police at a concert in London (Sting was a massive fan apparently) and as you can imagine, as epic as Tommy Cooper was, he went down like a lead balloon with the crowd. He was booed, heckled, pelted with all manner of **** by the crowd. As he walked off stage he went up to Sting who was watching in horror from the sidelines and simply said "Follow that". :D
