Some of you may have heard of him, he wrote the book "American Sniper" which was a great book. He had over 150 confirmed kills and I believe held the record for longest sniper kill for a while.

I know there may be a lot of people not fond of him, whether that's because of what he did during his time in the SEALs or you don't agree with the Iraq/Afghanistan wars, etc. Maybe some of you consider him a liar because of the controversy surrounding the incident between him and Jesse Ventura in the SEAL bar in Coronado. Despite all of this, I think the circumstances of his death are incredibly sad and tragic. He was giving back to the community by helping a friend and has unfortunately lost his life doing so. He is leaving behind his wife and two children, and the rest of his family and friends. RIP to a truly great guy, who did a lot in his life to be proud of!

Call it Karma or 'what goes round comes around' or whatever you like, but Chris Kyle was through and through a glorified murderer, thankfully in this world he wont get that chance again.

Sad loss.. but yeah, great idea giving PTSD sufferers access to firearms.

Sorry, but only in America!

Didn't take long for the trolls to arrive. He done what was asked of him by his country and did it very well.

Wow, you're so cool and, like, totally switched-on and intelligent and stuff. It must be ace to be you. We're all in awe, seriously.

He was a soldier who did his job well. Anything else, in your generalising demeanor, is human nature.

He did what he had to do so dribbling idiots can have the freedom to post whatever moron pops in their brain on the Internet.

You're a good advertisement for why drugs are bad ;)

Agree with this, won't change anytime soon as the gun trade is huge out there. We were at an outdoor shop out in denver and they have gun / crossbow section, there were kids there holding the guns, can't imagine growing up in that culture.

Shame that someone who's been in the armed forces gets taken out by some nutter in his own country

That's why you'll never beat his server record of 160 kills with the AWP.

Yeah, because killing a bunch of insurgents in a far away country really makes me safer. Thanks mate.

It doesn't make your country any more dangerous...

If he didn't do those things the country may be a lot worse off..

From what i've recently read about him he was a very skilled individual who will be missed by many..

What country would be worse off? The guy was a US sniper and was tasked with dealing with insurgents in Afghnistan and Iraq, it had no bearing on the security of the UK. You should be more afraid of getting struck by lightning than the boogeyman terrorists.
