RIP Chris Kyle

Leaves behind a mourning family but he also created 150+ more.

Whether you believe that what he did is right or wrong that isn't something to forget. RIP.

He did his job well. Such is life. I'm sure he made a few mistakes, but I'm willing to bet that most of the people he destroyed could have gone home to their families but for hostile actions.

Al Qaeda are not the only Islamist faction in operation. You stated there was no Islamist Terrorism in the UK until after we interceded in Afghanistan/Iraq, this is not true. Islamist terrorist activities were instigated prior to our involvement in Afghanistan and the subsequent Iraq operation. As for poltical assassination, you made no such distinction and political assassinaton can be categorised as one form of terrorism, (the IRA for example carried out various poltical assassination and they were all categorised as Terrorist activity) in any case some of those events were aimed at public offices such as the Sikh Newspaper offices and the Jewish Charity offices. The Lockabie Bombing involved the death of 31 British Passengers so to dismiss their deaths is somewhat ill judged as well.

The simple fact is that Islamist Terrorism has been around since at least the 1970s and the UK has been subject to it during that time.

Once again you're displaying you're ability for pedantry over terms used and completely missing the context and claims of the debate.

I was answering the claim that us invading Afghanistan/Iraq is making us (as in the British Public and not foreign diplomats) safer. All the examples you cited were not terrorist attacks in the sense that the target was the indiscriminate killing of the general British public (like as with 7/7 for example) but rather highly political targeted attacks. And some weren't Islamist attacks at all but just attacks orchestrated out by people who happened to be Muslim (Like Lockerbie).

Stupid argument going on here. Dude got killed while doing something good - attempting to help veterans with PTSD. Regardless of whether or not you agree with his other roles in life, that IS tragic. It's admirable that he was willing to give up his time, use his skills, all for a good cause, and a real tragedy that it ended this way.

R.I.P.

I'm sure the guy did what he did with the best of intentions. Seemed like a nice bloke and I'm sure he made a lot of hard decisions.

All those parroting the same old brainwashed 'they do it for our freedom, saving our nation' crap though...
This ain't the we're the heroes movie that the likes of Sky news would have you and them believe.

Shoot me down and post your witty retort, I don't give a monkeys. There will be no reply.

Funny how we'd had no Islamist terrorism in the UK until AFTER we went to Afghanistan/Iraq then isn't it? 7/7, the second attempt two weeks later, the attempt on Glasgow Airport etc.

The 7/7 bombers even said our invasions were what motivated them to carry out their deadly attack.

If you're going to argue that our boys (as much as I appreciate what they do otherwise) are 'making us safer' by being over there, you have to concede that their presence in Iraq and Afghanistan is what brought us the heat in the first place.

They hate our freeeedoms!!! You know like being able to hurt people's feelings on twitter... oh wait.

So you believe every soldier is a murderer? Genuine question.

Regarding war and it's consequences I believe you wont get a more moral understanding than what is written about in this article. And I am not saying I am anything like as moral as this guy, far from it.

The natural question next is what happens on the battlefield? Is it killing or murder? If the difference between killing and murder resides in the heart then this question can be very difficult to answer. If the reason that you are pulling the trigger and “slingin’ lead” with the enemies of our country is because you hate them and you want to see as many of them dead as possible then you have probably crossed from killing to murder. However, if you are willing to put your life on the line and take your enemy’s life if necessary out of a love for your unit and your nation then I think what you are doing is an act of killing for the greater good of peace and justice.

Call it Karma or 'what goes round comes around' or whatever you like, but Chris Kyle was through and through a glorified murderer, thankfully in this world he wont get that chance again.
