RIP Dame Barbara Windsor

RIP.
I thought she had already left us, was surprised to read the news.
Certainly a British icon.

RIP Barbara.
I was growing up when she was making all those films and even then I never thought she was anything special - Hated the laf.

RIP - the carry on brand of gentle innuendo humour (allo allo, rigsby, sorry I haven't a clue, ....) uniquely British (maybe scandies too)
would that, disappointingly, fail the #metoo bar now, instead we have modern acceptable humour likes of Fleabag or Sarah Milligan

Married to gangster Ronnie Knight, who was charged in association with a 6 million Security Express robbery in Shoreditch, who went on the run on the Costa del Sol, an alleged friendship with the Kray twins, a 10 year extra marital affair with co star in the Carry On films, Sid James. Subsequently married twice again. A penchant for getting her kit off mon camera. A remarkable career for one of our Dames of the most excellent order of the British Empire. Nothing against the woman personally, but these titles seem to be handed out without much attention to the morals of their recipients... I am sure she'll be happily ensconcing herself in a heavenly crime syndicate as I type ;) What a carry on :) RIP.

There is nothin' like a dame. ;)

I believe Ron and Reg had more than a few celebs, politicians, knights of the realm, coppers, judges maybe even royalty pass through their portals. Who are we to judge Babs.

She had a good innings but faced an awful end, Dementia is horrible thing. My grandmother was diagnosed with alzheimers recently and it's horrible to see.

I'm sure Barb is up there slinging people out of her pub!

They certainly did, even supposedly wholesome celebs like Judy Garland and Cliff Richard , along with many other famous names. The Krays were friends to many many celebrities of their era.

They welcomed all manner of alleged slebs into their coterie, in an unsuccessful effort at making themselves appear accepted, but most working class Londoners with at least two brain cells viewed them as perpetual losers, unless 30 year sentences make you look good.

Fleabag yes, but not sure how you can include Millican and the word humour in the same sentence, just my take on it.
