Just seen this http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/66244 on autosport website, unfortunately another driver in a plane crash, this time the ex btcc driver david leslie, I had the pleasure of meeting him back when he was driving for nissan in 1999 and was a really nice bloke, shame I didnt get a chance to have a longer chat even though I was only a nipper at the time.

I had no idea he was involved in this afternoons plane crash.

Used to watch him in BTCC in the Ecurie Ecosse Vauxhall team.

Jeez.....hard hitting....another motorsport great passes away.....

I'm hoping it wasn't him and his family onboard.

*EDIT* Richard Lloyd was also onboard the plane and died in the incident.

Two motorsports legends pass once again.....so sad.

What about Bertie Fisher?

My dad knew David via Ray Mallock. I even had the opportunity to meet him a couple of times; came across as a top guy both times.

He'll be missed.

It's a shame Nissan didn't continue in BTCC after they won in 1999

You can tell you're getting older when your childhood heros are dieing more often (even of un naturarl causes etc).
