Aah man, i loved this guy and the films he was in. Probably one of the most prolific character actors through the 80’s and 90’s. I remember him as the gun shop owner in Terminator, the garbage man in the Burbs, the Howling, the Explorers and my most favourite role of his, Mr Futterman in the Gremlins.

Another little piece of my childhood gone. Still, you can’t argue too much living till 90 with a life like he had.

I didn't recognise the name, but the instant I saw the picture I realised I'd seen him in so many films over the years.

Came here to mention this, beaten to it. I recall a few films of his, obviously Gremlins being part of my childhood so I only recall him in that alongside Terminator. He was brilliant as Mr Futterman!

I remember that clip from the set of the Burbs, when Corey Feldman, who was going through his mouthy, stoned teenage stage was being cocky and Dick just shut him down in front of everyone with a quick brutal “shut the **** up kid, I’m trying to do some acting”.

Good vid of some of his roles.

He was cast in quite a few Joe Dante films IIRC, a bit like Jonny Depp & Tim Burton. I did like him as a character Actor. :(
