RIP Gary Mason.

Former British heavyweight champ Gary Mason has been killed in a cycling accident in South London.

Only 48 years old, he had a 38/1 record with his only defeat coming from an up an coming Lennox Lewis twenty years ago.

He always seemed to come across as a nice guy on TV.

RIP Gary Mason.

Sad indeed. He used to have a shop in Chatham a few years back (I think that's where he was based). Seemed like a decent bloke.

Yes, he was based in Walderslade, just outside Chatham, at one time.

I met him twice when he was jogging/training for his fights.

A very polite man who always had time for his fans.

Very sad to hear this, especially the circumstances of his death.
Gary always came across as a nice guy when he was on tv, a real "gentle giant", my thoughts are with his family.

Terrible shame, i met him several times, nice guy, had a jewelry shop in Wandsworth.
