RIP Gary Rhodes

Very sad. Only a few days ago I was telling my partner how good his cooking shows were as a kid.

RIP, but I have to admit I do ***** my sausages. *verb: to pierce something with a fork.

Sky news reporting he died suddenly from a bleed on the brain

"His family have now put out a written statement following his death, which they say is intended to "end painful speculation" surrounding his sudden death.

The statement says: "The Rhodes family can confirm that after a successful day shooting with Rock Oyster Media for ITV here in Dubai, Gary returned home in a very happy mood for a peaceful evening with his wife Jennie.

"After dinner, Gary unfortunately collapsed in their residence and was rushed to hospital but unfortunately passed away due to subdural haematoma."

For me Gary is one the first names I think of when TV chefs come to mind and the first famous one I noticed as I was a bit to young to follow the likes of Keith Floyd (although I watch repeats of his old shows on Saturday Kitchen and he seemed like a cool guy). On the BBC they said he was working on a new TV show as well, I wonder if enough of it has been produced that it cane be broadcasted.

must have been the result of an accident or illness as he always looked pretty fit

That's surely the only way you ever really die young... irrespective of how fit you are.

In fact, the chance of a subdural haematoma is increased with exercise, so his fitness might have been a contributing factor.

Can't take risks with any sort of head injury, no matter how minor they might seem. Although I wonder what the response of the medical personnel would be - espsically as he didn't really have any side effects until near his death.
Yes. You can quite easily trip over something, bang your head and think nothing of it. Then a few hours later you start to feel a bit off and a tad queasy and simply drop dead. Have seen it happen.

So you'd say it's always recommended to get yourself checked? You'd probably thought to go as a precaution and drop dead in the waiting room!

According to the papers he had some kind of head trauma when he was young car accident or something was lucky to survive, I guess it got him in the end. Was in the middle of a filming a new tv series apparently and was very sudden.
