RIP Grandad

My Grandad has also just died. I didn't make it to the hospital in time, just got back :(

Smokers that are reading this, please please give up.

Keep you chin up mate, when this life come to an end it isn't the end, far from it it's akin to going home. :) Your Grandad will be smiling down on you and you will see him again; we're all reunited with those who we've lost. People will soon come to realise this. :D

I lost my grandad about 9 years ago to cancer.
It will be hard, but think positive, he had a great life and did his bit, it's your turn to have a great life and remember him at his happiest.

R.I.P my thaughts are with you and your family.

RIP George.

Losing anyone is never easy.

I lost my grandad 6 years ago now. It gets easier as time goes on but its still difficult :(.

My thoughts are with you and your family.

RIP indeed.

Losing your Grandad is hard indeed. Mine had a series of Heart Attacks before my Gran found him in the night. At hospital asap and he was alive and talking but not great.

Mother told me and I came home from work early and managed to see him and have a brief word and give him goodbye as the Doctors were waiting on the results of the tests to confirm what they feared. A few hours later and he was gone.

Boss went a bit funny the following week when my other Grandad died and said any leave I had was to be taken as holiday. Nearly screamed him into little pieces infront of the whole Exec area and CEO when he said that, but a friend managed to pull me of for a coffee sharpish.

Not nice, but it happens as we get older.

Thank you all for the kind words, really nice. Somehow for us all, it doesn't seem real, it doesn't feel that he is gone :( at the end of the day, I know my grandad would not want us moping around and would want us to go on day by day as we mean. I found out today that he also had a heart attack during the operation, I'll never forget the times he used to waddle up the stairs for a "jimmy riddle" humming singing O' Me papa" type of thing, and every boxing day spent with him, Miss him a lot already, thank you guys again for your support, condolences to other members on here who have gone through similar recently.

Given that he landed on d-day it sounds like he had good innings. Look back at his life with joy.

Have a drink to that !

Thank you all guys, Its very touching how so many of you reach out with kind words. At 88 my grandad had a great innings. He was more than a grandad, he was my friend, very proud to call him my Grandad and friend, maybe I shall update this sometime and tell you all a little more about him. The funeral is in just over a weeks time. Thank you all again for the great support.
