Rip Gsync (FastSync?)

FastSync...

fastsync.jpg

lol

From what I read it replaces gsync

I can't see it as it'll be useless with all the demanding AAA titles like W3 & AC etc where you don't get big fps numbers.
I imagine it'll be great for those of us running 1080p with a pair of 1080ti's :D
Nvidia's way of saying "you need to buy our faster gpu's!"

Not watched the video, but Seanspeed told me a few days ago FastSync was VR related or something? Lol..

Wonder if you need a freesync panel in order to use fastsync or does it work on any panel :p

This is ****ing perfect i for my passive 3D monitor !!! IT does only 66mhz overclocked. And There is no other passive 3D monitors to upgrade.

So my LG monitor stays longer till OELD 4k 24 inch are out :D

In theory its just a driver update. Also you cant have Gsync and Fastsync switched on at the smae time.

The best way to use Fast Sync is to have frame rates above your monitors refresh rate, when it is under, then fast sync won't be doing its thing and is not advisable. Basically you get tearing when above your monitors refresh rate but V-Sync adds latency (which isn't good) but having Fast Sync on stops the tearing and latency is massively reduced.

This works on any monitor for the record and doesn't need to be a G-Sync monitor.

Is this RIP Gsync?

/me waves goodbye to his resale value of 4k gsync

It's not as responsive as vsync off in terms of input lag, but very close and no screen tearing ? - any info on this vs gsync?

Nope.

Fast Sync and G-Sync are for 2 different use scenarios.

G-Sync, Syncs every frame within your monitors refresh rate, Fast sync for when you go over your monitors refresh rate.

FFS Nv, just add free vrr support already, problem solved.

whilst I don't necessarily disagree, as options are always good for the consumer, at least fast sync works without needing to change monitor at all, so it benefits everyone

it is complimentary to gsync, and replaces vsync with something better
