Compounded by the fact I have just lost my Dad aswell.

Giger was just something else! his art work. Very strange but amazing at the same time. You can instantly spot Giger's work and if anyone has been affected or influenced by it.

RIP Mr Giger. Your art and idea's will live on.

RIP to one of the most surrealistic artists of our time.

Although he got an Oscar for his Alien work, he deserved more recognition for all his work throughout his lifetime.

Giger's work has influenced virtually every sci-fi movie since Alien. The master and harbinger of modern horror/sci-fi who's both thrilled and terrified many of us. Often imitated but rarely surpassed. R.I.P

How sad.

Unlike most of you I didn't know him through Aliens first of all. I came to know of his artwork through Celtic Frost and later Triptykon.. Their new album came out last month with his artwork featured. In fact the mastermind behind Celtic Frost and Triptykon was Giger's PA.. So he must be feeling it right now..

Went to the Giger museum in Gruyeres when I was living in Switzerland. It was incredible and often disturbing. His obsession with machine/humanoid crossover and penetration was dark. A fabulous imagination.

Very sad news, I visited the Giger museum in Gruyeres a couple of years ago. Incredible and disturbing work in equal measure.
