I wondered this too. Had a look on wiki and allegedly he was arrested for paying for his 'Succulent Chinese Meal' with a stolen credit card. He was also a life long crook and a 'Serial Prison Escapee'.

It certainly removes any sympathy I might have had for their passing.

I've been the victim of thieves and burglars many times over the years, and funny as **** it certainly hasn't been.

That’s too harsh for me. He hasn’t murdered anyone. Even most criminals deserve some sympathy when they pass. If you read about his upbringing, it may give you an idea of why he went off the rails.
