Yeah, Prescott was from an era that you might not like his politics but a vast number of people had real respect for him. RIP..

I didn't always agree with him, but he was one of the old school politicians who had a measure of integrity who you could actually respect and actually worked a fairly normal job outside of pure politics before becoming an MP.

Certainly a big step up from the current crop of PPE to MP type that seems standard these days.

I suspect organisation was an issue, there was a massive security operation running for the funeral, even spotters and armed police on the roof tops overlooking the Hull Minster.

Police had been checking the area since Monday to secure any manhole, grating or drain cover in the vicinity. I understand the early train from London Kings Cross to Hull was filled with current and past MPs, Cabinet Ministers and members of the House of Lords.
