Just seen reports he has died aged 60. Another part of my childhood gone.

A nice bloke. He was in hospital at the same time as my wife (who was in there a couple of months). They got chatting - not in an 'OMG you're Cheggers!' way - and he used to visit her in HDU after he visited his mum. RIP.

Sad news apparently he has been ill for some time, he died at home with his family by his side.

My Dad has the same condition that he had - it's a real bugger, particularly near the end so I'm told.

Unfortunately few treatment options and no real understanding of why it happens

Met him while he was filming a part for GMTV in Spain some years back. Really nice guy, and like others have said a big part of my childhood.
