It’s explained at the start of the document. Why the public consultation?????
Not sure how Americans being stupid is relevant but lol..
Exactly nobody really weighs themselves in kilo's.
As I said on the other thread (that seems too have been deleted) - anything that is commonly referred in relation to a measurement is never metric - and if metric fails to cut across give people the choice of both.. it will always be a pint of lager..
In fact can anyone think of anything that is commonly referred to in metric?
Yes but Americans are stupid.I refer everything in metric especially at work (construction and engineering).
The only thing I don't is miles when driving because that's the standard.
I have no idea what my weight is in stone or lbs, or how tall I am in inches, nor the size of my garden in feet.
Even NASA use kilometres.
If you say so.Yes but Americans are stupid.
Shame they don't double check things though, like in the Mars Climate Orbiter mission.Even NASA use kilometres/metric system.
Dammit! There's always one!Shame they don't double check things though, like in the Mars Climate Orbiter mission.
What even the victorian railway? There was life before metric lol…If you say so.
Good to see stupid people put an unmanned vehicle on Mars. Imagine if they were intelligent!
Just think about it.... here in the UK all the infrastructure you use to power your house, drive on, travel with, live in and provide you with all your utilities were all designed and built on metric system!
I bet you feel dirty now.
If you only ride on old tracks perhaps, unless they've been maintained and upgraded, I'm afraid they will be tarnished with metric. But nothing built in the last few decades at least. What even the victorian railway? There was life before metric lol…

It's ok though hang on to your Victorian ideology, it'll die out soon fortunately.
My wife is American. She is quite conversant with metric units. I'm a Scotsman so I do the SI units.Yes but Americans are stupid.
Can confirm current standards are based around metric.
My wife is American.
When are we going to get tanners, threepenny bits and farthings back again.
I used to be able to go down to my local post office/grocer at the bottom of my street and get a bag of sweets for a farthing.
Miss those days.
