It feels like its been an age since he properly graced our airwaves but Murray Walker has passed away aged 97.

Enjoyed seeing him pop up occasionally (usually at Silverstone) on the Sky coverage; always loved his combo with Brundle in the early ITV days.

All my childhood memories of F1 are sprinkled with the magic of the man himself. Such a great loss to the world of Motorsport :(
As a kid getting up at 5-6am to watch Suzuka or Adelaide with Mansell and Senna duelling it out in the early 90’s with Murray and James Hunt was where F1 began for me.

Then Supporting Damon Hill in the mid 90’s With Murray’s immortal commentary as he finally won the big one :)

Noooo RIP Murray, most charismatic commentator we'll probably ever have. No one can have as much passion As he had.

RIP Murray, he had a great balance between calm and excitable commentating, unlike certain modern day individuals. Not to mention some great off the cuff remarks.
