RIP Nvidia - PC Gaming ?

I’m on the fence about this tbh will this game have better quality or are we gonna be on console graphics ?

To be fair console graphics are impressive, look at Red Dead 2, not many if any PC games come close to that.

I just wish AMD would get their act together on the discrete graphics cards front, and start giving Nvidia some competition on the high end.

AMD desperately need to get power consumption and generated heat down and performance numbers way up, easier said than done.
I think it's going to take a major architectural shift, but you know they pulled a rabbit out of the hat with Ryzen so you never know.

A couple of years from now it could well be Nvidia struggling to stay relevant.

Finally, I'll be able to play The Last of Us !.. oh wait. That's the only console game I wanted to play..

Red Dead 2 ! maybe Rockstar won't have to port it now :)

So what is the performance of the emulated state of decay vs Windows native?

Someone to answer - what is the performance of the State of Decay? Benchmarks, anything?

I was very excited to heard news about playing Xbox games on Windows 10, cant wait to play few titles I only interested in are Red Dead Redemption and Red Dead Redemption 2.

https://www.resetera.com/threads/an...ndows-and-play-state-of-decay-for-free.98508/

I downloaded Windows 10 insider build 18334 and installed on other PC and installed Xbox Insider app from Store and logged in Xbox Account, go to Insider Content but cant find State of Decay but found Windows Gaming and joined it then went back to Insider Content and found State of Decay and join in but received message said they could not enrol me in because the content reached maximum capacity so I will try again later to find how well it will run.

You can play Red Dead Redemption on the PC via Xenia, the Xbox 360 emulator.

WOW just saw the most recently youtube video Red Dead Redemption now playable up to 60 fps on Xenia now. A year ago it was sorted worked but graphics broken and unplayable, what a huge progress in a year.

Will ask my sister to borrow Red Dead Redemption. :D

I very much noticed playing RDR2 on my PS4Pro how lesser the graphical quality/famerate was compared to playing PC games at 4k on my PC.

Agreed, while the Xbx and pro are still good especially for the cost.

Doesn’t compete with a constant 4k 60 and ultra settings. Or 1440p high refresh rate.

I kinda like this news. Me and a few friends have been playing forza horizon 4 on pc using the xbox game pass and its been really good fun so far. Forza is my favorite racing game so i may be bias :D)

Why should they, the revenue from the high end is pointless, nvidia get chosen anyway regardless.

AMD has rightly realised reality, focusing on killing it in the Low-mid tier, where the majority of revenue is had.

To be fair I think RDR2 looks better than Crysis 3.
One would hope so. Crysis 3 has been out for over half a decade. Lol.

Even if Crysis 3 was better maxed out 4K on PC vs RDR2 on a Xbone X, RDR2 it is a great achievement. Goes to show how small the gap will likely be when the PS5 comes along. That is why I am seriously considering dropping to 1440p on PC to just play my old library of games and any pc exclusives now and then and go for a VRR 4K OLED TV together with a PS5 :D

I can always come back to the PC in 5 years or so when there are more than a handful of ray tracing games and the difference is night and day vs rasterising.

I wonder what card will be in the ps5 could it be the new and card I wonder?.
From what's been said PS5 will have a Navi gpu

But this is interesting because if this turns out to be true, at all, then Origin, Uplay, etc and other game service apps will be rendered obsolete. As developers might not find much incentive to allocate resources to create a "PC" version of the same game.

Navi. Both consoles use AMD hardware.

If xbox format games are going to be the new normal on PC, then say goodbye to support for any Nvidia specific features in the majority of games (DLSS and RTX could be rather short lived).
