RIP Peter O'Toole

He once said he went for a drink in Paris and woke up in Corsica.

And on another occasion him, Reed and Richard Harris were in a bar in the US. They wanted a late drink but the owner said it was too late so they offered to buy the bar at twice the real value as long as they could have a late drink. The owner obviously said yes, they wrote him a cheque, he retired on the proceeds and they got their late drink.

The guy did things in style.

It was Ireland; but yah, What a life. A true rolling stone. It's genuinely bummed me out (but at the same time made me very sort of happy that he had such a huge life!. What an amazing human being).

Oof. That's very special. I've heard him read Shakespeare in different performances; but I like that very much.

He and the late great Richard Burton were good friends. I bet they were heavy duty.

I think they were chap. Richard Burton gave a great recount of what it is to be an alcoholic. He said:

"I think that nobody quite knows which drink it is that takes him over the edge of being merely a social or hearty laughing drinker into a morose hung-over wretched creature who shakes and creaks and sweats, and has nightmares, and it's always november, and it's raining and it's 3 o'clock in the morning and there's nowhere to go and there's nowhere to go, and you reach out for a cigarette and smoke and think of all the horrible things you've done in your life. And all the shames you've endured and suffered and all the shame you gave all the people; all the wrongs you've done other people. I don't know whether alcoholics can put it quite as eloquently as that usually. They just say "I just stare out of a window for 2 years".

And I think that there's a price to pay for such a deep sort of talent as these people had. But a price that is well spent (dare I say it) on the rest of us.

RIP Dude.

He's trolling. And it was a good troll. But wasted here.

Off to 4chan with ye.

Lol, my line hooked one so I can eat for tonight!

Seriously though he was an amazing actor. This was a day I was expecting sooner as he appeared very weak (physically) in Troy although...perhaps that was part of the act.

RIP, man I hate getting old now as people that I grew up with knowing something about are slowly leaving the mortal coil and its hard not to be upset by that knowledge its just going to happen more and more :(
