RIP Reg Varney

They are showing all 3 on the buses films this afternoon plus showing episodes at the moment on itv 3 , tribute to Reg i think

One thing that has always puzzled me about On The Buses is Bob Grant's Jack character, i.e. the conductor. As with allot of sitcoms of that era he is your typical randy cheeky chappie, getting his leg over at every opportunity and usually with great sucess. But, have you seen the state of him? How the bloody hell could someone with teeth like that even get within 15 yards of a sexy "clipper" never mind bed two at once on the top deck of a No.49 bus at shift change. The only explanation I can think of was that it was a public service initiative to convince ugly blokes there is hope, if you get a job as a bus conductor.

LOL :D Funny thing is my little lad was laughing his head off watching on the buses today, especially the bit on the holiday one when the his son sprayed ink all over the place.

R.I.P

RIP - gave me many hours of laughs when I was young.

Hey Azagoth - about an hour ago I was parked nearly outside your house at the end of F Street.

Excuse my ignorance but I havent got the foggest clue who he is! Just spent 10 mins trying to figure it out.

RIP all the same though!

Yeah Reg was a legend and enjoyed a very long & eventful life. He did not really hit the bigtime until on the buses and was in his mid 50s then  (but looked a lot younger).

Sadly Bob Grant who played Jack took his own life in 2003 as he never once got any acting job after On The Buses finished as he was forever typecast.

Alltime classic series which would never get on air nowadays as it was non PC from start to finish (which is why many loved it as all the charcters were spot on:D).

Fellow fans may also be interested to know that a big high st retailer for dvds, music & games was selling the entire 7 series box set (green double decker bus cardboard box) in the summer for only £25 reduced from £100!! So may be worth seeing if you can still pick this up as it obviously did not sell well for them to be offering such a big discount as most people alive now would probably never have heard of or even be interested in it.
