That's very sad to hear. I'm far from active here, these days, but I've been at the periphery of things for a long time, and you get used to folk being "part of the furniture". Sorry to see him leave us.

Getting older is... complicated. I'm active in the local dementia community and there is definitely such a thing as living too long. But there's also such a thing as not living long enough. There are no rules when it comes to fairness at either end of that range.

RIP Rob.
 
Very sorry to hear this, Rob was good person and brave (serious illness is not easy and he handled it so well), he will be missed. RIP.

Thanks to m@rty for mentioning this in La Cuisine as I wasn't aware of this thread and Rob's passing. Had no idea he wasn't well. I'm absolutely shocked and heartbroken and have shed a few tears.:( Rob had a brilliant sense of humour, made me laugh out loud several times. You will be missed mate. I'm having a pizza tonight in your honour. RIP Rob.
