RIP Sid Waddell

Just seen it reported that Sid Waddell has passed away. I was aware of him being ill for a while - he didn't do much commentating on the last Darts Premier League, but I didn't know he was that bad. Such a shame. He came across as a intelligent, articulate man away from his manically funny commentating. He will be missed.

Rip, his commentary on the darts was fantastic, a genuinely funny guy who made it all the more enjoyable to watch.

RIP - he made a huge contribution to bringing darts to a huge TV audience. It was always great to listen to him, and you can always tell when a commentator has a genuine love for the game as he so obviously did.
