RIP Sinéad O'Connor

RIP - 56 is far to young.

I wasn't her biggest the fan but 'Nothing Compares 2 U' is a genuine tear jerker and all time classic.

Edit:
There are some very ghoulish people who look after Wikipedia. People who spend all day refreshing news sites looking to see who the next famous person that has died because they waste no time at all updating the site. :(

Why is that any different to news websites writing articles about people when they die?

Almost as 'ghoulish' as those people who instantly rush to Wikipedia to see if a person's entry has been updated to reflect their demise.

This is terribly sad. She was a unique artist and someone that stood up for what she believed in the face of incredible spite and vitriol, and was ultimately proved right. I hope she is at peace.

Shame on those rushing to speculate about cause, why does it matter?
I guess it matters to some because it's a relatively young age to die and possibly rather sudden (unless she was ill?).

I remember the first time I heard "Nothing Compares".

I was walking into the student union at Surrey Uni in 1990 at lunchtime to meet a friend.

The song came on the projection screen with the video. I was spell bound. The simplicity of the video, the power of the singing and the pure emotion.

I stood there for the 5 minutes and didn't move, then noticed about 5 other people had done exactly the same thing.

Crazy mixed up life, sadly not much peace it seems. Sad.

It is likely to be suicide.
After a motorbike crash on a trackday i was on some painkillers that were also antidepressants. When i came off them i felt like i wanted to kill myself, luckily it only lasted 3 or 4 days and i knew it was just the tablets that caused it but it was absolutely grim feeling like that. So i really empathise with anyone who suffers with depression and can understand why they would want to stop feeling like that.

Mental health is a terrible thing & many people suffer without getting the proper help. Even with high profile losses like this, we will not deal with the issue & continue to lose people

Meh - sorry for her MH, but just because she had a talent, doesn't make her a good person or erase her actions and beliefs.
