It's not his opinion, it's trolling.

And were also allowed to state our 'opinion' on his opinion! ;)

Are you now not trolling by replying ? Am I now a troll for replying to yours ? :D

As for Curio:

Quiet. He was being ignorant by stating that the guy didn't respect animals or life itself, which is complete tosh. He lived life to the full and animals were his life.

I believe you misinterpreted what was said by him. He was not being ignorant, every one knows Steve loved anmals, more so than any one else I have ecountered on tv or off, but still animals have to be treated with respesct.

Every animal is hard coded, yes correct. They all act very similar, but until every situation is taken into account and every action recorded, you will never be able to fully understand what happened. The description about his death (stingray feeling cornered and lifting it's tail) would be one of those undocumented and unencountered happenings.

Steve was a great man, and still is. His name will go on for many a year, not because of his crazy antics, how he wrestled crocodiles or kissed snakes, but because of the truely brilliant work he did down under with the Zoo and other charities.

You can tell by looking and listening to the man, that he was a great father. People like that just give of an aura, one of which he definately have. Always been one of my dreams to visit the Zoo of Australia and watch Steve with the crocodiles. Which now, will never happen. Which is why, instead of posting flame bait, instead of posting silly pictures, you all need to take a step back and send a few thoughts, mojo, and positive energy to his Wife, family and children. As they will need it more than they ever have.

Lets not bicker, please.

Completely gutted the bloke was a legend and did so much for conservation as well.
R.I.P.

I remember when I first saw Steve on the telly, and thought he was a nutter asking for trouble. But after watching more of his work, it became clear that he had the utmost respect for the animals in his care and knew exactly what he was doing. He knew his limits, but wasn't afraid to push them to get the job done. I once saw a programme where he'd travel all over the place removing snakes and crocodiles from human areas, both to save the animal and to protect the people living there.

There aren't many people like him around, so it's a great loss. An absolute legend in his own lifetime. RIP.

My missus told me this over the phone this morning and she said it was Steve O (jackass) trust her to get it wrong but it would have been something I'd expect him to do.

I can honestly say I was shocked when I looked on the Beeb and it was Steve Irwin. Though he was 44 I can tell you theres probably only a handful of 44 year olds that have had the life he's had.

This will be a big loss to Zoo Australia and I hope his wife and children are ok at this time. RIP mate!

RIP Steve, I am going to miss the guy a lot. Still in shock...... As said before, at least he died doing what he loved. Gutted :(

R.I.P :(
The last show I saw him in was when his second child was being born and how him and his wife were preparing for it.
For some reason, Im genuinely upset about this, like I know him well.

Steve Irwin - Legend :)

Rest in peace

Im not going to say that he deserved to die, because no one does, but he did tempt fate an awful lot!!

The guy obviously felt very strongly about nature and conservation etc and so atleast he died doing what he enjoyed.

What sucks the most is that it wouldn't have been a particularly peaceful death - with the life he's lived you'd hope he'd get that :(

Not a particularly good weekend for myself, first the loss of the Nimrod crew, and now one of my favourite TV personalities.

RIP

Sad to see a real character like that go, but it was kind of expected with the way he lived. Wish there were more proper personalities like that, rather than this drab celebrity culture we seem to have now.
My sister is a huge fan, she has posters of him on her wall, so she's quite upset.

Wikipedia states the events were actually caught on camera and the video is now in possesion with Queensland Police.

Isnt this the kind of stuff thats gets leaked:(?

No he didn't - it was all worked out before he did anything and he went to great depths to get this over so that idiots didn't think they could do it.
Its quite interesting to see the documentary that accompanied his film because it shows how much preperation is done. The scene with the croc jumping up the side of the boat took six months to do. The Taipan that he held off the back off the lorry was one of four that Wes chose for him and they picked the calmest one. The scene where he runs through the water when the croc is after him was all setup so he wouldn't slip etc and this type of preperation went on through his TV program. The stunt with his one month old baby was exactly that - a stunt. He knew the croc inside out and chose that particular one because it would go for the food.
