RIP Steve Irwin

 Apparently they are sharper than any regular kitchen knife. And when you pull it out, it just causes more damage as it attacks from both angles.
Yeh it's the serrations which do the most damage, it's not the going in, it's the coming out. Makes you wonder if Irwin would be alive if he hadn't pulled it out :(.

Well I've always heard people say that you should never remove a knife or instrument that you've been stabbed with, because it will bleed a lot more. But I think it's natural instinct to remove it. I think because of where it was, he still would have died but he may have been conscious a little longer. :(

I doubt it, I mean it pierced his heart so surely leaving it in wouldn't have made a difference
Maybe, but pulling it out probably didn't help. The shame is we can speculate all we want but we'll never know :(.

PERFECT Video to watch considering he's only recently passed.

RIP Stevie :(

The video and the music brings a tear to my eye :(

There won't be another Steve Irwin. RIP.

Such a sudden Shock to Hear on the radio on the way to work yesterday morning.

RIP Steve, atleast you did what you enjoyed for a living and unfortuently you gave your life doing it.

:(

I liked Irwin because he always seemed on the verge of peppering his monologues with profanity. On that video, up there ^, I was sure he was going to sign off with 'Wildlife, **** YEAH!'

Man, just realised that one of the cameramen Craig Lucas is one of my best friends from school in Australia. Could have been filming it as it happened. How awfull. :(

My kids are gutted about the news as well.

Gawd, on a forum I administrate theres a thread on this subject. And people were saying unfair things about the man and then I had to clean the thread. Glad to see you guys are being nice :)

R.I.P Steve

Can you be any more ignorant? Just because I voiced an opinion on the guy, contrary to most others here, I *must* be trolling. Wake up.

Steve Irwin was an entertainer. His reputation was for acting outlandishly around dangerous creatures. Ultimately you play with fire you are going to get burnt.

Your post was so obviously just plain tripe, you just had to be trolling. Either that or you're a complete idiot who doesn't know what they're talking about.

I apologise for calling you a troll. You're obviously just stupid instead.

With regards to him pulling it out - I would think he would know better than most of us what the best course of action was. Even if he hadnt pulled it out, he would have had to somehow cut the stinger off to free himself of the stingray
