Did you pay for your winamp (i.e. Winamp Pro)? What Flac codec are you talking about? There already is one installed I assume to play those types of files.

The official FLAC codec 1.1.4b - As for Winamp, I installed a version a long time ago and ever since have just updated to the latest version which has kept all settings and everything without issue so not noticed any differences to removal of flac ripping etc.

No problems following the tutorial. Only tested a couple of CDs but appear to be perfect rips and burnt back to a CD easily. The flac files are about 65-70% of the original size so still take up a fair bit of space but hopefully this will be the only time I ever have to do this :)

Seem to be plenty of easy to use convertors to go from flac to mp3 so shouldn't be any problems doing that either.

Thanks, only problem I have is my string anyone tell me how to get

1. Artist - Track

10. Artist - Track

or maybe

01. Artist - Track

10. Artist - Track

?

Are you sure you read the guide ?

He gives an example like that to be used for CDs with various artists :

%C (%Y)\%N - %A - %T

So if you want a dot instead of a dash you would probably use :

%C (%Y)\%N. %A - %T

Yer read it all, didnt fully understand everything. My string(I think its called that) might be wrong as I clicked various as it was a compilation that I tried.

I used his string for the various option and it comes out exactly as described. So I have a directory with the album name and inside each track is presented as :

xx - artist - track name

The only thing you may not have done is made sure the artist / track name that comes up in EAC is seperated by a forward slash rather than a dash.

The various one I did as a test came up seperated by dashes so I used the option Database -> Transform Actual CD Information -> Transform '-' to '/'
