What do people recommend these days for ripping DVD's to M4v Format?

My plan is to rip my 100+ DVD's which i watch less frequently to about 600mb m4v files. Anything which i consider more frequent to a higher file size (if not full size but m4V).

The reason behind this codec is so it makes life easier steaming and transferring to the apple devices in the house...

Ive come across DVDFab which lets me rip the DVD and convert single pass to M4v and it takes about 10 mins per DVD when CUDA is enabled.

Whats everyone elses experiences? Any other suggestions for software? This DVDFab wont be lasting much longer until i buy it, however i would like to know of other options before i do...

I've used DVDFab for my Bluray collection, works a treat. a tip though if you are doing that many discs, rip a load of them as entire discs to your HDD - then set it to batch them as you could burn your disc drive out if you are encoding from the disk the whole time.

Rip DVD movies to HD videos? You could get iFunia DVD ripper pro to have a try, which is stated can rip DVD to HD video such as HD MOV, HD FLV, HD AVI, etc.

For the video formats info, MKV, M4V, Flac and more you can turn to Wikipedia.org.
