I have the Windows App / Microsoft Store version of Rise of the Tomb Raider, it's fully updated but no sign of DLSS available in the settings. I know a DLSS patch was released on the 18th or thereabouts.

Does anyone know when this is landing on the MS Store version?

I don't know but I know MS generally get Patch updates months later if their platform does not support it.

like MSI overlay support TOOK Months
SLI Took a while

Just read that Prime Gaming are giving it away for free tomorrow, I guess that will be on a different platform so I might grab that and try to port the save game over.
On a similar vein I currently playing Control standard edition via Game Pass but they are giving away Ultimate Edition on Prime tomorrow so will try to do similar.

Yeah I have that on Epic but it wasn't the proper Ultimate edition so no point. After a bit of googling I've figured out how to migrate the Control GP savegame to GOG.

Now the good news is the Amazon Prime version of ROTT is the 20 year celebration edition with extra content, and it has the DLSS option.
The bad news is, I can't get the save games ported over. Windows Store seems to use some weird encrypted savegame format where they are 4MB in size, much bigger than Epic Store saves. Don't really want to have to start all over, I'm at the Soviet Installation :(

Just started this haven't played a tomb raider game since you could lock the butler in the fridge. :D

I also started it recently early last week but what was strange for me was so many things unlocked a few days ago when I reached a certain early point. I'm wondering if it's because of my linked Square Enix account from the Playstation 4 since all 3 games were completed there.

I don't have every weapon but nor did I have enough parts to build any weapon so far and then they showed up.

The same happened when I also installed Shadow of the Tomb Raider and reached a certain point. Though I dived straight into Deadly Obsession. No check points until you craft camp fires. This is where some of the platforming is truly terrifying.

The controls on PC makes it so much more enjoyable than console.

How do you play it on PC, I tend to use the controller most of the time for general platforming and roaming about, but then pick up the mouse for combat as obviously aiming is impossible with a controller.

Simple really

Third person games - Controller
First Person Games - M+KB

it really feels wrong using keyboard & mouse for third person games now days

Back in 90s maybe as their was nothing better, but controller just feels better for third person from my perspective

i see it as

first person you directly looking at our of your "eyes" so you can control better with keyboard

but third person you get much better control via controller as your behind your character & its not just ON/OFF control to move you can move slower etc

now if you had one of those keyboards that had control from pressure of your finger then maybe id get it

Yeah I pretty much go with this as well.

Yeah so I'm wondering why they said controls on PC are so much more enjoyable, only real benefit I see is for the shooting sections.

For me trying to aim with a controller is just as wrong as (if not worse than) using a m&k when in 3rd person perspective.

Using both controller and M&K (as I did in GTA5) kind of gives the best of both worlds, except it breaks the suspension of disbelief a bit doing the physical transition between devices, and having to figure out if it is worth putting the controller down (if it's just like killing a couple of dudes, probably not worth it; if it's a big firefight, then you need the mouse).

Try tracking the wolves as they rush you and dart about with the controller. I even find the platforming sections easier with keyboard. Like the double tap on climbing walls from spikes or fire. More so in Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Or even the swimming how quickly you can turn around for piranhas.

The Division games also benefit from mouse and keyboard even though they're 3rd person.

I played through all the TR reboot games with MKB, shooting the bow is just much more fun that way. I rarely use a pad but did for Jedi Fallen Order since it did not require any precise aiming. I think Lara makes a better Jedi though ;)
