Rise of the tomb raider, worth finishing?

I'd imagine im about 3/4 of the way through, and completely bored. at this point i dont even listen to Lara when she finds a new relic, she just drones on, and on.

I really enjoyed the reboot, but this one seems to have so much content crammed into it that I dont feel that i'm actually finding any secrets or tombs, as i'm tripping over new ones every five minutes.

A wealth of content is not usually a bad complaint to have, but large sections of this game could have done with giving the player a chance to breathe.

I really enjoyed it, as I did the first one. I felt it was an improvement in most ways.

Though if you aren't into it, don't bother. I wouldn't waste my life trying to complete it just because.

At 25% you're into the story enough to know if you'll like it.

I completed the first one twice and possibly 3 times and I completed the second once. I felt it was a very good game that kept me interested and after completion, I went back and did all the extra bits to finish it 100% but didn't feel rewarded in doing that.

ROTTR is a very good game but not as good as the first for me.

I though that the first Tomb Raider reboot was awesome, the second game was just strange, more open world but I didn't enjoy it as much, almost forced myself to finish it.

yeah i really enjoyed it. i play it as stealth as i can and stick mostly to bow and arrow.

i don't imagine it feels as rewarding if you just run around with a machine gun etc.

I wanted to take this approah tok but certain sections dont really give the choice likr a guy throws u a shot gun then you get a few waves of shot gun armed enemies right in your face to push through

Just small gripes really but hurts it for me i prefer the quieter parts

Well worth finishing. It's just a continuation of the first, I didn't really feel the stuff they added really made it that much better but it's well worth playing. I'm struggling to have the motivation to find/do everything. Currently at 85%.

Yeah this basically.

I'm playing it at the moment, probably around half way through and loving it. Its quite rare for a game to keep my attention for more than and hour or two at a time these days but was happily playing this solidly all afternoon yesterday.

But yeah if you're not enjoying it don't bother, life is too short.

For me i think i will push through, dont know how far in i am, but would be a waste otherwise! Buy too many games and never play them, a trend im trying to change.. for better or worse

Couldn't agree more! bow and arrow is best! especially since I do archery in real life as well :D just cba doing 100% , just finishing the game at about max 70% maybe.

I've been playing this lately. I have bursts of 2-3hrs on it. I find it unbelievably stunning in places and it gives me the kind of Uncharted fix I crave on PC .

I found the first one a bit more engaging, but the first had really annoying QTE. This one has a lot less.

I dont feel a huge desire to collect everything like I often do on these games, but I have found most of the environments good enough to keep me engaged.

Graphically it is a fantastic achievment.

They did well relaunching Tomb Raider in a new modern way. These last two games have a grittiness and you actually see a fragility (although shes a badass) in Lara Croft.

I'm having the same issue as some others in this thread. Its just dull. The narrative is really slow and boring and shallow. There is only so many times I can hear about "the prophet" before I want to sack it all in.

It all feels very samey for the most part as well and it lacks the amazing scenery of the uncharted games. I have tried to do all the challenge tombs and collect as many items as I can but I don't feel like it has been even remotely worth my time.

I really liked the first game but this one just hasn't gripped me. I am struggling to finish it and I play an hour or so before getting bored and giving up.

It feels like they have half baked most of the ideas in the game. The hunting, crafting, weapons, open world. None of it is done that well or of any huge benefit to the experience.

I think this is definitely worth finishing. Some stunning visuals and some fun ways to kill enemies. I was a bit annoyed that in some parts there is no stealth solution and you end up having to melee regardless. If you're not playing bow and arrow the majority of the time, you're doing it wrong IMO.

The shooting accuracy thing is flippin' frustrating too (spent nearly all my ammo trying to shoot down that bloody crow - trying to hit moving targets is nigh on impossible sometimes!)

There's also the fact that most of the artifacts you find don't really seem to mean anything or serve a purpose apart from getting your % up.

I still really enjoyed it in all honesty. The puzzles were all a bit simplistic but I suppose we're living in an age where most gamers don't have any patience and like to have their hand held. The late game was pretty satisfying.
