Riser Card cable

Just wondering,Do you loose any performance when using Slot Riser Card Extender/cables?

Might need to get a PCI-E 1X Extension Ribbon Flex Cable as i just noticed my Graphics cooler is blocking mine so i cant put in the Killer 2100 card i recently bought.

you will be fine with them as long as you buy protected versions

How do i know if they are protected or not,Looking at one on ye olde auction site for £7.

Also i cant seem to find a cable longer than 15cm,Is this due to loosing power or something?

i need a longer cable!

There will be a finite length that PCIe will work over.

Have you tried searching for 'pcie 25cm' or similar? It turns up results for me.

No idea if they'll actually work at that length, but anything that stops a Killer NIC from working can only be a good thing.

If you're really desperate you could connect two extensions together. But nobody needs a Killer NIC that badly.
