A couple of weeks ago I did a risk assessment for a day out for 30 students and thought I'd completed it.
On friday I was discussing the itineray with the boss and said -
We go from base to point A by coach and spend 2 hours there.
We walk from point A to B which is a 15 min walk at the side of a lake but the path is very wide.
We spend 1 hour at point B and then picked up by coach and taken back to base.
My boss said that they couldn't walk from A to B and have to be taken by coach because of a big risk.
I ask what the risk is and its this -

Its a bridge over a brook thats about 10 foot long with rails either side
Bloody Health & Safety, it really is a joke sometimes.

Wait a minute...

It's not safe to use bridges?

Surely there's a bigger risk of death and injury using the coach?

Crazy, people need to get things into perspective when doing risk assessments.

I wanted to photoshop the Dinosaur saying "Hello" out of the bushes to highlight risk, but couldn't find it. I looked for "Rawr" in Google images but fainted at the 5th result...
