RivaTuner 2.05 Released

it has been a good one so far. These settings including typo have played bioshock for 70 mins, and sega rally for a good hour with no errors wotsoever.
 
well i tried ati tools and got 630/980 and after that was getting the yellow dots,but you cant try shader clocks in ati can you,nasty yellow dots
 
Sorry if this is a stupid question but is the shader overclocking only available on the 8xxx GPU's or will my 7950GX2 be able to overclocked in this way?

I've actually held back from updating to the latest drivers so not tried yet.

No but I run the ati tools graphical stress test and use rivatuner to alter my shader until ATi shows up errors. You don't have to use ati to overclock but it's a handy way of finding errors.

Still run 3dmark06 and some games after just to check for errors.
 
cheers for that greebo m8,ive set it at 630/1500/980 and set fan to 75% and have it so the clocks start at startup,but they will only run in 3d performance though m8 wont they,cheers m8,havent sorted how to set the fan to run at 100% when in 3d performance mode yet though m8

Rivatuner fan control. You can set different fan speeds for 2d/3d. I just set mine to 100% for performance 3d since it ain't that noisy IMO.

And as for running in 3d performance, so long as you had the pulldown box in rivatuner on 3d performance than yes. If you select the other options youi can play with them as well. A lot of people downclock on 2d and set the fan really slow so it's totally quiet. Who needs that much performance for a windows desktop? ;)
 
great, cant seem to get sli compatability.... anyone know how? ive gone back to 2.02, how could they have missed sli? stupid tbh. no test button and half the time the clocks i set wont do anything, and my second card has a core of 198 according to this new rivatuner? crap tbh.

anyone know anything about this and a fix so it supports sli overclocking, please let me know

Something in the release notes says they wrote in SLI compatability but haven't tested it so it might not work. I guess they were trying to rush a version out with the shader sliders. Maybe next release will be fine and SLI will be fixed..

You have to remember they don't get paid, don't charge for the software and there is only so much time to reprogram. I think they did well getting a shader controlled version out so quick and that will fufill the needs of 95% of 8800 owners (those without SLI).

If you don't like the software, don't use it or make a donation - it might help them fix your problems. ;)
 
How can i check for stability?
My clock runs 3dMark06 fine, would that be enough?
Also, finally overclocking on vista :D
Got me from 9K to 10.8K in 3d06 :D
 
stabilty for me, is playing games. If it dont lock up my pc, tear or play silly buggers, its fine, but how stressed your card will get over time is a risk.

Can't be bother posting an image so will try and describe ;)

Run Rivatuner 2.05

Driver settings >customise > system settings (this opens the first tabe where you set your core, shader, memory overclocks yes?)


Next tab on the top is fan. Click on that and you will see seperate settings for each type 2d, low 3d and performance 3d.

Don't bother with the bit you went to and may be best to switch that bit off as from memory I think it overides the above fan tab settings.

Have fun!

Oh yes and don;t forget to save and tick the box "apply fan settings on startup"
 
helmutcheese your right i dont have fan in that section ive got to go into the the other settings for the fan,is it a bug or is there a fix for it m8
 
No idea, it has been there till last 2 builds for me, I used to have 2 diff fan sections on the 8000 cards but only the one we have now when I has the 7000 series.
