I've been running @
4.5ghz (125blk 36x) on my 3820 for a while now, plenty of time to stabilize my loop (other than my res leaking).

Getting Idle temps of 30c and load temps around 55c running @ 1.3v.

It bluescreens on boot at 37x @1.3v & 1.35v (however that could be my RAM causing that as it's only 1866 running at 2000 (@36x) and faster @ 37x

Timings are 9, 10, 9, 27, CR2, which is rock steady @ 2000mhz.

VTT - 1.1v
VCCSA - 1.1v
DIMM's @ 1.65v

Most settings are as the X79 guide.

Should I drop the RAM frequency, and try to get it back up using the BLK & multiplier? Or is the voltage not high enough?

It's Corsair Dominator CMP16GX3M4X1866C9 RAM.

The Dominator Plats 1866 Kit should do 2000mhz easy at 9-11-10-28 1T. Thats how I normally tune that kit. Mine do 2133mhz at those settings too.

What you trying to acheive here more mhz DRAM or CPU. If it CPU you may need more core volts to go to the higher multi. If it DRAM drop the Multi and push the BLK in which case you may need more VTT and VCCSA. 1.125-1.15v.

Try PLL 1.95 and 1.65 and observe changes too.

Ok I'll give that a try!

I remembered to copy my stable bios settings to Bios 2 this time...!

I had to CLRCMOS last time and lost everything when it wouldn't post.

I think you typically loosen the timings if your running above the rated of the RAM. You could try Memtest first, before booting into Windows. I guess its your RAM too, as the OC is nothing extreme. Although I would image you would need more than 1.3v for 4.625+. I seem to.

Also, I'm in the process of OC my 3820 and have got to 38x125 (1.25 strap) with 1.365v and 1.15v on VTT and VCCSA voltages. LLC set to High with 130%.

I tried 1.35 with 37x and it would boot but prime workers would all fail within 5 mins.

Ok, I've switched the RAM in my Rig to:
2 sets of Corsair Dominator GT 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 PC3-17000C9 2133MHz

I'm using the stock 9-11-10-27 timings. But I can't get my PC stable at any BLK of 125 (other than underclocking it at 2000mhz).

I'm still trying to run my CPU @ 125BLK & 36x which was fine with the basic Dominator Kit.

Should I drop it back to 100 BLK * 36x, clock the ram at stock and mem test to ensure I don't have anything which I should be RMAing?

Run your ram at its rated spec using xmp profile and memtest, if all good can you post up some bios screenshots?

Edit: by the way, nice rig ;)

Memtest threw some errors on the xmp profile.

Not really sure what to do now...

On further searching 2133 RAM seems less compatible than I'd like with the Rampage IV Extreme... Dropping the speed to 2000mhz with a 125 BLK and 36x multiplier is holding pretty steady at the moment...

Just need to figure out how to get it to 2400mhz...

Was your cpu oc'ed whilst testing?? If it was, set to default settings and load the xmp profile again and retest, maybe try 1 at a time too. This could rule out a faulty stick.
At the end of the day they should work at there rated speed/timings if not i'd rma.

Your trying to run 8x4 gig at 2400?

I would try running 4x4 first, just to see if both can do 2400

I doubt very much you'll get 8 sticks @ 2400.

Have you plug the connector in for running 8 sticks as recommended?

@ Nickolp - IPAD?

go into the bios
set mem freq @ 2400
go into Dram settings and select RAW MHZ

If you get into windows then you have a chance at those timings

Ah ok, I'll try that once I've re-installed windows...

This build has just been one pain in the ass after another...

My raid - 0 just failed *sigh*

I was going to re-install anyway, but I wasn't expecting to do it now!! :(

Edit: can't find my product code... I guess I'm ringing MS tomorrow!!!

*sigh*

Wooooo

We have Windows...

I found the licence key on my phone.

Right, time to do some testing.

@1.675v 2333mhz doesn't boot to windows on RAW

I've had it boot at 1.7 but it seems a little unstable.

will test at 1.725v shortly. (just installing some stuff)

Are you using 8 x 4gb or 4 x4gb mate?? Just reread the thraed and cant see.

4 x 4gb should do 2333mhz easy and possibly 2400 too.

10-12-11-28 Set Rampage tweak mode one and manually set TWCL to 8 and TRRSR to 6. Also set the top two thirds to two.
