Is there any such thing?

What I'm thinking of is one network cable goes into an adapter which can split into 2 (or more) network cables so I can connect it to 2 or more outlets?

I've seen the other way round but that would mean getting another v.long cable routed to my bedroom (router on ground floor, me in attic).

If your not using gigabit another option is to use some 'Cat5 Economisers'. There are 8 wires in a cat 5 cable and only 4 are used for speeds below 1gb, what the economiser lets you do is use the spare wires as an extra connect. You will need two economisers one for each end of the connect. You will also need some 'Cat5 Inline Couplers' if you don't have Cat5 wall sockets.

The economisers/splitters are good for what they allow you to do and I have a few kicking around here for bodging for a while, but a switch is better.

I got a cheap switch and it works fine. Just dont plug into the uplink like i did DOH.

There are splitter available but they do cost a bit, you'd need 1 at each end and it all depends on your current single cable as to how well they'd work. Would be easier as people have said just to get an el-cheapo switch.

Didn't notice the or more bit. I'm just giving the guy another option. The cheapest switches are more money then a pair of economisers, they are also more robust. Although the switch has other advantages.
