Can companies tell how a GPU died?

My idiotic dad wanted to change his graphics card, and pulled it out while the pc was on. To be fair. It's a dell machine and not many fans and it's quite. I don't think he knew it was on.

Is an RMA possible?

Or will they know straight away what's happened.

Card is 110% dead !

Any signs of damage?

I don't know a lot about GPU's but in all fairness the gold big long ciruict board. Didnt look gold, more black, brown at one end. I assume no power runs through that long thing?

Pc is a dell. But the GPU is aftermarket. As it was upgrade

Dad is trying to find the receipt. This ain't looming good.

Ugh I dont know. It's a 6670 I am sure if that. It was about £100 a few months bak.

I am guessing most of it. Tbh I think I will let my dad RMA it. And see what happens lol.

He is fine about it.

Pc works as he put in the new GPU and has been using comp

Yeah i understand it is his fault, have told him this. He was just going to chuck it before taking it out. But then a poster wanted this type of GPU in the MM. Looked about and its still worth a fair bit. But my dad said if i can get a tenner for it. Then he is happy. (postage and a pint)

But now it looks like the card is dead and no chance of RMA. Will see later what he has done
