As title; I am sending a hard drive to Western Digital and when I have printed the RMA Pre-Mailer, I noticed the part about Customs.

What do I do with the Customs part? Do I need to stick it to the outside of the box and sign it? Put it in the box and sign it or something different?

Thank you :)

Send it via RM International signed for (I'm doing one myself at the moment). The customs bit - I don't think we really need it because it is within the EU (GER) so customs will be pretty loose thanks to our common market. If unsure, just ask at the post office if they want a customs declaration etc.

I decided against RM Signed for, as there is no tracking outside the UK, and there could be an argument about who is liable if the item is lost before it arrives in Germany.

And RM recommends Airsure! :)

*International* signed for? You sure - I sent some things to France with that and it is insured and tracked...

It only costs £3.50 on top of normal postage cost for first class.

EDIT: Hmm, Airsure does look better in fairness and is only £1 more....

My local PO told me that ISF was not tracked outside the UK - RM's website confirms this.
Yeah - had a quick gander myself - looks like Airsure it is (I've never even known what Airsure was - I thought ISF was the big one).

Oh - some advise - do the advanced RMA and use the packaging they send you for the return - it ensures they don't reject warranty.
