Hey Folks,

We've just built a few new PCs at home here. One of them is running an MSI 2070 Super OC plugged into an MSI X570 board. It's connected to two ASUS 1080p monitors, one is usually gaming the other a browser, streaming or whatever. These are not freesync or gsync or anything, and only have HDMI inputs.

The card only has one HDMI output, so the monitors are connected one to that and one using a Displayport->HDMI cable.

Every few minutes when gaming, Windows makes the 'hardware disconnected' noise and one or (usually) both monitors flicker black for a second, then come back.

We've got the mainboard bios up to date, Nvidia drivers up to date etc. Is this a known issue to anyone here? Is there something to try to fix it? Or should we send the card back (an annoyance...)

Thanks in advance for the advice :)

Are your monitors HDMI 2.0?

Probably best to list all your spec ! Will get a better response then.

Machine Spec -

Ryzen 3700X
MSI X570-A Pro
MSI 2070 Super Ventus OC (which has one HDMI and many DP sockets)
2*16GB Corsair 3200 Pro RGB
EVGA Supernova 650 G2 PSU

Asus VX279H & Asus MX279H 27" IPS monitors, which have only got HDMI connections

We've just persuaded windows to update itself to 1903, and installed MSI SMBus drivers. Also checked heat levels of various things and re-pasted the processor just in case. None of this has fixed the issue, though apparently we're not getting the "Device Disconnected" sound from windows now, but the symptoms persist. Thoughts now are that -

1. Cables are dodgy (seems unlikely...)
2. PSU is inadequate or somehow dodgy
3. Graphics card is just borken and needs to be RMAd
