So basically my nice and shiny P5N32-E Sli mobo whent dead, just like that. So i requested an rma number from where i bought it from (rival company). I waited a week before i got an rma number. The guy who was doing my rma told me that he had sent out a replacement for me and that i need to return the faulty one. So i waited until i got the replacement one but it never came so i phoned up and was told i had 2 send back the faulty one first. So i spent 20 quid on delivery and waited for my replacement. It never came so i contact the guy who was doing my rma through their support ticket system thing and he told me that he had sent a replacement to me. I then told him that i hadnt recieved one. He said he will sort it out when he starts work again on tuesday (at this point im getting pretty impatient). I phoned up the shop today and the guy who i was talking to said that he would contact the returns manager to verify that a replacement had been sent off and that he would call me back later this afternoon. This afternoon came and whent and i never got a call.

So here are my options:

A) Sit tight and be patient and hope it all gets sorted and i get a replacement sent to me?

or..

B) Ask to be refunded and go down to good, old trusty overclockers and buy a new mobo from them?

I hate RMA (back using old xp and 939 setup :( )

How long have you had it? If its past a set time (28 days or something), they don't need to refund you I dont think.

Also how come it cost £20 to post a motherboard? Special delivery should be ~£8.

I would see what they say Tuesday. Might be worth buying a new board anyway and selling the other one when it arrives.

If I were you mate, I'd demand for a refund. It's pretty obvious they're a crap company from your experiences so far. The only way to get a company like that to cooperate with you is to let em knows whos boss and put some pressure on them. Tell them a fixed date when you want your replacement by and if you hav't got it you demand a full refund.

If its more than 2kg, which a lot of mobo's are when packaged in their original boxes with all the extras, then its just under £20 RMSD...

And yeah, i'd demand the refund tbh, their service doesn't sound too great :(

Well first delivery cost 20 quid because of it going by special delivery and the fact that it was worth more than a 100 pounds.

Second, im gona wait tueday 2 see what they say then if i dont get a definate confirmation that a replacement is being sent then i will demand a refund and pop down to OcUK HQ to buy a new one :)

i used to send mobos & PSUs via RMSD but then the price went up to around £18

your better off using parcelforce 48 hour service its only £14 or so or even try parcel2go its only £9.99

crap service tho :D

Better off using RM Standard Parcels with enhanced insurance (can go up to £250) about £7.70 for a mobo.

Oh, and Sale of Goods Act 1979 section 48C 2 (b)....

Ask for a refund ;) (only works beyond 28 days waiting though).

Well spoke to them today and they said they have recieved the faulty one and the guy said he would send off a replacement for delivery tomorrow :D

Missing my C2D rig, back on the old and slow AMD 3800+ (939) at the mo :(

If it's a year or less since you purchased it from them they have to refund your returns postage charge too. That's part of the distance selling regs. It state's "A consumer should not be penalised for the return of faulty goods". This only applies in the first 12 months though.

If I had known this before Id have saved myself about £40 by now! Thanks for the info :)
