I sent back my GeForce BFG 7900 GTX for RMA due to it having artifacts.

I've received a 9800 GT today in return.

I don't really know anything about computer hardware anymore, but the 7900GTX was the best card at the time. Is going to a 9800 GT an upgrade or downgrade?
