Ive recieved an RMA code... what do i do now.. do i print out the email with the RMA code on it and send it with the product back to the place of purchase...

or should i just send the actual product with no attached email stating the RMA code.

Thanks

I used to work in returns at a couple of places. Things that made me happy and want to process an RMA quickly were

* RMA number clearly marked on the outside wrapping.
*Well packaged and with all the original bits n bobs
*Nicely worded letter inside stating the fault, the RMA number... any previous discussions with the customer services etc, A return address and also an email address for me to quickly get in contact with you.

DO all this and ill tell you for a fact that you will be the 1in20 RMA that is a joy to process and almost makes the return guy want to buy you a pint for making his job that much easier. Almost all returns depts are run like sweatshops and the guys n gals have a bad enough job as it is without people making life worse. These people are usually very badly paid, work long hours and get no thanks off the bosses ( the return dept doest MAKE money you see.... its a cost burden a company must have but all that means is the boss usually wants it done on the cheap with the least number of people and they usually shout and scream all day that everyone is useless and lazy ) --- My experiance anyways :D

90% of RMA's i used to process had no RMA number... no address... no letter explaining the fault, no nothing!.... so you would only find out who it belonged too after about 3 or 4 weeks when they phoned to complain about the "rubbish" service we offered. You then got dragged before the boss to explain why you hadnt used psychic powers to find out just who the mystery package had belonged to! i joke you not... they used to expect us to trace customers using no information at all!

Hmmmm asus x800 returned, ahh yes thats mr smith of newton abbey.... got his number in my mobile!
