Me likes Porsche, but sack that and give me more pictures of the buxom lass on the left please, just ask her to remove everything bar the boots and she's all set.

If I had such pics, I wouldn't share them.

You'll be asking to see my pics of the Hooters girls next...

I'm really tempted to do something like this in the mx-5 but through europe. is there generic advice that you would offer Fox as to things you may have done differently or as to how you went about planning it?

Take a laptop.

I booked up as far as Vegas and from then on I booked the next nights accomodation the night before.

interesting read thanks :)

When you say £3k is that for flights/car and accomodation or is that including food and activities (sea world / chopper trip etc)? Seems very cheap if that is literally every penny you spent!

I know this may sound a tad strange but as a person with an illness that means I need to go to the loo a lot more frequently, how far are we talking between pit stops on average? Can you go for hours without seeing a single town/settlement?

Ok some cost breakdowns for you rg...

Average accomodation cost per night: £49.62
Most expensive accomodation per night: Marriot Foster City (San Francisco) £69
Cheapest accomodation per night: Planet Hollywood Las Vegas £37

15 days Ford Mustang £420 (But with 10% Quidco back later)
Seaworld/Zoo admission £120
Grand Canyon Tour and flights £300
2 Economy returns LHR-LAX £942
Fuel for rental car £173
Parking fine £20 :(

I think the longest I went without a seeing stop off was from Zzyzx to Kelso Depot in the Mojave and that was about an hour.

What time of year was it again? the accomodation in particular is brilliant value! It was $400 for one night at the hotel we stayed at in miami beach and there wasnt THAT much of a saving to be made unless we moved away from collins avenue and into mainland miami (big no no), and we were thoroughly off peak (first week of march)
