It probably not that healthy, but it's better than being sedentiary.

I run 10k round West London every Thursday and 10k round Surrey every Sunday. By the end of each I don't feel any different and I wouldn't stop running because of it.

Yeah and you get black bogies in London but thats life :p

I hate running, but its true what they say - its the best way to keep fit and aid weight loss.

Unfortunately!!!

I do a 20 min run in Charlton a couple of days a week if I can, and the last stretch is main road and its not that great :( esp in the summer... but needs must!

These joggers can be really annoying - they absolutely refuse to stop running becuase it ruins their rythm and a lot of them run on the road. I'll often come up behind one on a single track road where there isnt room to squeeze past - and they never, ever let you past. They carry on jogging with a queue of cars behind until they eventually reach somewhere you can pass whilst they continue to jog...

As [DOD]Asprilla says if your choices are doing nothing or going for a jog then I reckon the jog is the healthier of the options, ideally you'd be able to run to a place outwith most of the pollution but that isn't always possible.

Quite right, there's nothing quite annoying as those irritating car drivers who come along and expect you to change your rhythym for them.

Pfft, we have just as much right to be running down a road as you have driving down it! :D

Try reducing your yearly carbon emissions, whilst getting fit & losing weight - see you on the roadside! :p

With respect, if thats an issue for you, stop running in the road. The road is for cars not people with a tight fitting lycra fetish.

damaging joints while running is a complete myth. Your knees are well suited for running. What does your joints in are things like football and rugby where your pivoting and twisting your legs.
