Robert Di Matteo sacked!

Lost 13 of the last 18 games apparently, thats OVER a 66% losing ratio in the past several months, when should they fire him exactly when they hit league 1?

Again though, probably a better idea to do it pre transfer window closing and not after a game they had little to no chance of winning even if they were in good form at that time.

EDIT:- decided to check out that stat, it includes one league cup and fa cup game, they lost to Ipswich and Reading so not exactly good there either.

poor decision imo the baggies seem to be doing well at the beginning of the season
but I don't see them surviving the drop now he has gone

Pointless to be honest, decent bloke trying to get them to play decent football.

Will no doubt spur them on against the Wolves now.

Stupid decision, playing excellent football even with a squad that just isn't good enough to stay in the Premier League.

No one can perform such miracles, West Brom will go down even if they had Jose Mourinho.

How on Earth can West Brom sack a manager for them being in the Premiership relegation zone?

It's what they do. Get promoted. Get relegated. Get promoted again. Get relegated again. Repeat until the end of time.

Seems daft to sack him after the transfer window has shut, do they honestly think they can someone better in now that will get more from the pool of players that they have?

did the board actually invest in any new players?

Not from what I gather.

Similar to Hughton really. Zero backing then they are surprised when things don't go swimmingly. Feel sorry for managers who get clubs promoted, seem to be held against vastly unrealistic expectations.

I honestly thought the thread was a joke till i read the replys.

Watched west brom a few times this season, been impressed with the way the managers got them playing with a fluid work and tactical ethic while moving the ball forward.

With the ball coming back at them not so great, for the most part individual errors, but lacking a collective spirted leader/ship entreched back line that you need when the individuals you have arn't the greatest and will make those errors.

All that though, chairmans made a poor choice on the face of it... the team is massively improved on the one i saw play in the championship last season, and the manager in my opinion is only going to get better.

Strange realy, matteo cracked it last year for me under the presure of promotion a must from a 2nd season in management.

If not before, the fella will be back in a decent job in the summer.

madness

They're only 4 points off mid table technically. I though Roberto was doing well with the limited squad he had.

WBA were the best visiting side I've seen at the Emirates this season, and I'm not joking, they were good value for their victory.
Really don't know what's gone wrong for them the past couple of months

I was at the home win against fulham and its gutting tbh. Considering we now enter our major run ins against our relagation rivals and wolves no less! He was a likeable figure and got us away from the megson battler era which i couldn't stand. There is a faint rumour that sam allardychi (:D) might be taking over so im sure vela can't wait to get started!!!

Is it too late to pick up diouf on loan?!?! ... man ill have nightmares tonight :(

I bet your side of the mids are loving it though? I think you could give us a hiding tbh. :(
